On September 21, 2010 I decided to run for the City Council District 12.

I have been a resident for 26 years in Los Angeles and I have viewed the last few years with sadness and anger, our city crumbling before our eyes.

How has our city leaders whom we trust, let this happen? I guess the meaning of the word transparency wasn’t in their dictionary. We the people, we have to pay for their mistakes.  Elevated taxes, hidden taxes, loosing our private sector, where is our movie industry? We are sending jobs over seas, giving big salaries and pensions and don’t forget our sky high utilities bills.

Their lives didn’t change, pay cut, big deal, the damage is already there!

I have been in business for 25 years.  We budget to help us through the ups and downs, but where was your budget? You are supposed to be intelligent people, how have you let this happen.

People are tired of corruption in the city! This is our money, you are working for us. We are not working for you!

This is what we want!

  • To listen to the people!
  • To clean the city!
  • To prosper!
  • Good schools!
  • Good education!
  • Transparency!
  • The business not to be forgotten!
  • Land use, to achieve it’s potential!
  • Park and recreation being used for the public!
  • We want our freedom!

I was born and raised in Montreal in a family of ten children, one sister and eight brothers.  I took responsibility at a very young age. I remember one of my father’s last pay checks, $100.00 a week and has never been on the welfare. My father at 55 years old had a stroke, which forced my mother to become the bread winner, and she had a hard time to pay the bills. I remember the day the Sherriff came to knock at our door and told us we had 24 hours to leave the property.  At that point I knew I had to do something to protect my family and with a few phone calls and arrangements, it was done, and we kept our house.  At that point, I knew I had leadership in my blood.

In 1976, I attended Chatelain Business College and worked as an accountant for a retail store. In 1980, I was a Retail Agent and sold houses at 20% interest. Finally, in 1984 I moved to Los Angeles and have been in retail ever since.

When I moved to Los Angeles, I knew very little English, I thought things would be easy but it was difficult with the language barrier. I pushed myself to learn English to be able to better myself and communicate with others.

It was also here in Los Angeles, I met my husband Chemi and had four beautiful children.  I am now a resident in Chatsworth for 26 years, and business owner for 25 years in the San Fernando Valley area. My daughter Nicole attended CSUN, and is now at McGeorge for Law School, Benny attended Chatsworth High, and is now involved with the business,  Nathalie is at CSUN studying Deaf Studies, and Erik is still in High School and  2010’s Junior National Cycling Champion.

Through the years, I have constantly been involved with our community, helping teachers during the time my kids were in school, on the PTA board. I have been a Member of the Kiwanis Club of Chatsworth for 12 year, I have participated in Christmas parades, Citrus Day and many others projects.

I now belong to 7 Chamber of Commerce. I served 2 years on the Chamber of Chatsworth board and am now serving on the Canoga Park Chamber as Chamber Government Affaires. I also have a seat at the board of Chatsworth Neighborhood Council, and am Transportation and Safety Co-Chair.

I have recently formed a committee, and plan to launch a emergency preparedness program for the OK-HELP signs that will be used for emergency purposes and will be distributed to our neighborhoods after the pilot program is completed.

If there is one thing you should know about me, I am a results oriented and determined individual. I believe this has contributed to my success in everything I do. I am responsible, honest, and trustworthy and I want your voices to be heard.

Now more than ever it has become essential for us to redirect our city toward more conservative values. Let’s restore our city, WE WANT OUR CITY OF LOS ANGELES BACK!

I am the VOICE  for the PEOPLE
